En låt som sträcker sig strax under 4 minuter, "The Silent Man" är en av Dream Theater's mest spartanskt uppbyggda låtar, bestående nästan exklusivt av akustiska gitarrer med inslag då och då av odistade ditos och lätt slagverk. Att faktiskt förstå texten är inte det lättaste i hela världen, så fans har suttit och försökt tolka den och lagt upp en ganska hållbar teori på faq.dtnorway.com. All bör åtminstone nån gång ha lyssnat på låten, särskilt de som inte är fans av deras stil generellt. Ida och Gurra är två stycken som bör lyssna på den i alla fall.
